Can you combine the Seafarers with the Cities and Knights game or only play one or the other? If you can play Swift Code Timberland Bank both what parts do you omit etc?

Hi, we own Settlers of Catan and Seafarers and want to buy another. Swift Code Imperial Capital Bank We exclusively play seafarers because we love the huge boards and the way we can travel to other lands. Which expansion pack makes the most sense to purchase next? The Cities and Knights or the Traders and Barbarians?
